Some days the magic happens and it feels fantastic. Something just clicks, the setting, the subject, the lighting, the mood, everything just comes together and "works". Some days though, some days there is something missing and it all comes crumbling down. Sometimes the shot just isn't there.
It can be a combination of things that falls apart that screws up a days shoot, or it can all come crumbling down because of one thing. Today it was mainly me. My head just wasn't in it, which is a bad place to be when you are supposed to be the guy spinning all the plates. Admittedly it doesn't help when a four hour shoot gets reduced to a two hour shoot, then starts an hour late shrinking it down to just an hour, but sometimes the world does get in the way :S
When this happens I guess you can either give up or give yourself a slap and get on with it. I prefer the latter.
Sometimes, you just need a little Cher to get you moving on...
